JCI Texas Metro Presents: FOYT Banquet & Leadership Conference
The Junior Chamber International Texas (“JCI Texas Metro”) is proud to announce its Five Outstanding Young Texans Banquet and Leadership Conference held December 16th – 18th at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol. Participants in the JCI Texas Metro Leadership Conference include Junior Chamber International members from all across the State, the Nation and Internationally. The JCI Texas Metro Leadership Conference is designed to bring bright minds together to share a TED-like experience where all participants add value and capitalize exponentially. The conference agenda is designed to provide practical, real world solutions to challenges with multiple initiatives that non-profit volunteer organizations face in today’s economic, civic and social environments. Participants will return to their local community empowered with ideas and most notably, the tools to turn ideas into action and action into a measurable impact.

JCI Texas Metro is proud to recognize five influential Texans who have distinguished themselves professionally and in their community. FOYT recipients are selected for their outstanding contribution and achievements in (1) business and entrepreneurial success; (2) social justice; (3) civic contribution and public service; (4) philanthropy and volunteer service; and (5) culture and the arts. The JCI Texas Metro Five have shown that they live by the principals of The Junior Chamber Creed:
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
That government should be of laws rather than of men;
That earth’s greatest treasure lies in human personality; and
That service to humanity is the best work of life.The 2011 FOYT recipients are submitted to the United States Junior Chamber for consideration as 2012 Ten Outstanding Young Americans (“TOYA”). This award was originally called the Distinguished Service Award and subsequently the Five Outstanding Young Texans award. Past winners include President George H. W. Bush, Texas Attorney General John Ben Sheppard, Pastor Joel Osteen, CBS News Anchor Dan Rather, Entrepreneurs and Philanthropists Sam Wyly and Lewis Timberlake and Former U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary and Mayor of San Antonio Henry G. Cisneros.
