    JCI Texas Metro Agenda

    FOYT Leadership Conference Agenda

    What to Expect

    The Leadership Conference Agenda will focus both on individual leadership development and address the external challenges facing progressive chapters.

    This agenda upends conventional wisdom and dares to ask the question “why?” and provide the answer “how.” This consists of intimate breakout groups each lead by a moderator, but provides for an open forum and requires participation by all attendees. The morning will provide a brief introduction to Junior Chamber International, The U.S. Junior Chamber Metro Conference and the inner workings of The United States Junior Chamber. The second discussion shall focus on chapter operations such as marketing, finance, fundraising and foundations.

    Round Table Agenda

    On Saturday, December 17th, JCI Texas Metro members will be immersed in an exciting TED-like conference, where participants will discuss and share ideas about:

    • Innovate or Die! The Future of Junior Chamber International, The U.S. Jaycees & Your Local Chapter
    • Measure Success Now! Social Media Marketing is a Necessity for your Business & Local Chapter
    • What Would Steve Jobs Do? Better Technology & Tools for your Business and Local Chapter
    • Money is the Mother’s Milk of Charity. How to Create a Foundation for Your Local Chapter
    • Taking Out the Middleman. Online Membership Database Management for Your Local Chapter
    • Think Big! Act Bigger! How to Make More Impact and Money for Your Local Charitable Event
    • Fish are Friends, Not Food. The New Joint Venture between The Junior Chamber and The JCI Senate.

    The JCI Texas Metro Leadership Conference promises to be an interactive experience, so bring your laptop, iPad or notebook and always…Your Big Ideas!

    JCI Texas Metro Presents: FOYT Banquet & Leadership Conference

    The Junior Chamber International Texas (“JCI Texas Metro”) is proud to announce its Five Outstanding Young Texans Banquet and Leadership Conference held December 16th – 18th at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol. Participants in the JCI Texas Metro Leadership Conference include Junior Chamber International members from all across the State, the Nation and Internationally. The JCI Texas Metro Leadership Conference is designed to bring bright minds together to share a TED-like experience where all participants add value and capitalize exponentially. The conference agenda is designed to provide practical, real world solutions to challenges with multiple initiatives that non-profit volunteer organizations face in today’s economic, civic and social environments. Participants will return to their local community empowered with ideas and most notably, the tools to turn ideas into action and action into a measurable impact.

    FOYT

    JCI Texas Metro is proud to recognize five influential Texans who have distinguished themselves professionally and in their community. FOYT recipients are selected for their outstanding contribution and achievements in (1) business and entrepreneurial success; (2) social justice; (3) civic contribution and public service; (4) philanthropy and volunteer service; and (5) culture and the arts. The JCI Texas Metro Five have shown that they live by the principals of The Junior Chamber Creed:

    That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
    That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
    That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
    That government should be of laws rather than of men;
    That earth’s greatest treasure lies in human personality; and
    That service to humanity is the best work of life.

    The 2011 FOYT recipients are submitted to the United States Junior Chamber for consideration as 2012 Ten Outstanding Young Americans (“TOYA”). This award was originally called the Distinguished Service Award and subsequently the Five Outstanding Young Texans award. Past winners include President George H. W. Bush, Texas Attorney General John Ben Sheppard, Pastor Joel Osteen, CBS News Anchor Dan Rather, Entrepreneurs and Philanthropists Sam Wyly and Lewis Timberlake and Former U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary and Mayor of San Antonio Henry G. Cisneros.
