Melissa Shea has combined her love of graphic design, writing and photography to help create the Fashionably Connected network of local fashion web sites. With over 20 years of experience in the creative industry, Melissa uses her web design and social media marketing skills to create a fun and informative online fashion magazine that brings much-needed exposure to local fashion communities.

Her passion for the art of fashion design and her experience helping small businesses grow their online presence has fueled the expansion of the Fashionably Connected concept, beginning with the first local fashion web site, www.fashionablyaustin.com. Melissa understands how to design simple marketing solutions for small businesses and enjoys helping fashion industry professionals get the exposure and recognition they deserve.

When Melissa met Cheryl Bemis in January of 2009 and learned of her vision for an all-fashion web site for Austin, she immediately knew that Cheryl had a fantastic idea and envisioned what is now Fashionably Connected. With a career in web design and development and nine years running her own web design company, Melissa and Cheryl conceived a web site that would connect local fashion communities and provide essential social media marketing services for the fashion industy.

Melissa's career has exposed her to hundreds of small to medium-sized businesses and non-profits that need to grow on limited budgets. Using her experience with different business marketing strategies and her love of fashion, Melissa has developed the Fashionably Connected Network to provide exposure for fashion businesses in their local community and beyond.

Always exposing herself to the creative arts and immersing herself in new experiences, Melissa thrives on discovering the next "new" thing, whether that is cool social media technology that she can pull into a web design, or scouring the internet to learn the back story on the latest fashion industry news-maker, she loves learning, growing, and sharing new ideas.

Melissa lives in Connecticut with her husband and enjoys hiking with her dogs, traveling to her favorite places in New England and Europe, and reading books from her favorite suspense authors.
