About Haley
Haley Johnson is a graphic designer/photographer driven by the passion of people, creativity, knowledge, strength, and achievement. She started her journey as a medical student at DePauw University. It was there she found the desire to create, when she was inspired by the structure of organisms and DNA. She recently graduated from the Graphic Design program at Robert Morris University of Illinois in Peoria.
As a recent graduate, she is still finding her footing in what she wants her art to say and stand for. She is trying to find the way to combine both emotion and basic geometric structures, into the overall theme of her art. She finds herself experimenting with color to push the eye to the border of acceptance. Layout and typography are a strong block in the strength of her designs.
Haley sees graphic design as the ability to create meaningful and rewarding combinations of images, type, color, and illustrations. She pulls her inspiration from shapes and lines, which are found in the environment on a daily basis. She feels it is important to show the client’s story, but still be able to be expressive as an artist. She worked with Robert Morris University in the planning and development of their first high school art show in 2009 and hopes to be able to plan a show soon for herself.
Haley believes she is not just a graphic designer, but also as an artist and a photographer. In both her art and photography, she tries to stretch the human imagination. She wants to create images in ways people would not normally see them. Currently, her fascination is in marco photography, where she takes the viewer up close to look at what lines and shapes truly create an object. Haley’s art was show cased in the “Outside the Line’s” art show in the Spring of 2009, was published in Robert Morris’s Egg publication in 2010, and in 2011 she was featured in Robert Morris's Senior Show.
